Tmin: 15.8 Celsius. One of those warm/ sultry nights where some folk find difficulty sleeping. Brilliant for moths - and caddisflies, and craneflies...
There were three new* moths two of which were plume species (which makes a change from the usual four species normally encountered). Crescent Plume and Yarrow Plume - the habitat list include sand dunes/quarries for the former, and sandy waste ground for the latter. This closely reflects the habitat around the trap site. Food plants are Restharrow/Spiny Restharrow, and Yarrow respectively.
The third addition to the garden - Celypha rosaceana - is described as local, the larvae feed on Sow Thistle and Dandelion roots.
