Tmin: 9.7°C; W: WNW 0-7 mph; P: Trace;

A moderate haul despite low minimum temperature.
The latest garden addition was NOT the micro Acleris ferrugana/notana but is the 91st garden record of Epiphyas postvittana comprising of 152 individuals - thanks to Bennyboymothman for the heads-up on this 'schoolboy' error !

SP9326: 28/07/15 - Smart Dart !

Tmin: 8.9°C; W: W 2-7 mph; P: 1 mm;

A brief shower and single-figure temperatures produced another grim catch, however, there were some quality moths to be had...

MH has caught Archer's Dart c.3 km to the NNW of here - and also Scarlet Tiger - both of which have now turned up here. So was it inevitable ? - possibly, as our site is 600m from a small working sand quarry. There are currently 15 records in the vc30 database.
Nutmeg has proved hard to nail-down (and possibly missed) in the past. There aren't many oak trees locally (but plenty further afield) so it was nice to get Oak Hook-tip - geometrids don't always stick around , it often appears.

SP9326: 25/07/15 - A Late NFY

Tmin: 9.3°C; W: W 0-4 mph; P: 0 mm;

A very poor catch, but hardly surprising following thirty hours of rain, and low overnight temperatures.

Double Square-spot was NFY, and is the second latest garden record by two days (from 21 records), showing signs of wear.
Four Shaded Broad-bar together was a garden record.
